Frequently Asked Questions

1. Lifejackets. All participants are required to wear lifejackets in the locks.  Please bring your own lifejacket as they will not be provided by the organisers.

2. Water.  Please bring a water bottle and fill it up at the hotel and/or lunch stops.  In order to minimise plastic waste, we will not be providing water.

3.  Tools.  Please bring a 10mm spanner for rigging the boats at Stourport on Thursday afternoon and derigging at Gloucester on Sunday at the end of the tour.

4.  Boats.  The boats used on the tour are stable coxed quad touring boats (also known as "Explore" boats).  They have footplates with straps, similar to those on ergo rowing machines, so you will need to wear trainers in the boat.  It would be a good idea to bring water shoes as well in case you need to get out on the river bank rather than a pontoon.

5.  Coxing.  The cox's seat is wide enough for everyone to sit in, and everyone is expected to take a turn at coxing.

6. Gala dinner dress code. Smart casual - blazer and club tie (gents) if you have one, cocktail dress for ladies, but don't go overboard!
